The Bushman Building Recreation Department provides activities for residents with their abilities and interests in mind so that they are meaningful to them.  Participation varies, depending on the individuals’ needs, from minimal prompting to more physical assistance while using adapted materials and communication devices.

Recreation also takes the residents on person centered outings into the community to parks, restaurants, shopping, movies/plays, fairs, holiday events, church, concerts, sporting events, and anything occurring at the local arena’s that may be of interest to them.  Outings are very pertinent to our individuals’ quality of life.  This is very evident through their expressions and body movement when they are out in the community or at special events.

The recreation department is also involved with community groups and hosts socials year round with groups from local churches, cub/girl scouts, Meaningful Movements, and the Knights of Columbus to name a few.

The Therapy Services Department seeks to maximize an individual's independence and
potential throught Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy and through the use of
specialized equipment.
