WHAT
IS A VOLUNTEER?

service without obligation to do so.
2. A person who performs a service
willingly and without pay.

Volunteers give our residents the extra
one-on-one time that is so important.

HOW
TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER |

Apply in person at our volunteer office.

Complete a volunteer application.

Arrange
for a tour of our facilities

Volunteer placement will be made based upon
your interests and availability.
All volunteers are required provide to:
1. Signed statement from a physician.
If you have not recently seen your physician, the E.C.C.R.
will arrange an appointment for you.
2. A Mantoux (TB) test. If you prefer,
our nursing department will administer the TB test free of charge.
All volunteers, over the age of 18, are also
required to participate in a criminal Background
Check including fingerprinting.
The Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat will
cover the costs involved with all of the above
requirements. There will be no expense
incurred by a volunteer.

GROUP OPPORTUNITIES |
|
Volunteer opportunities are available for
groups. If your civic organization, school club,
church group, business or other group would like
to help the E.C.C.R. please contact us. We look
forward to working with you.

|
JUNIOR VOLUNTEERS |
|
The Junior Volunteer program is for individuals'
ages 13 - 17. The program provides
participants with the opportunity to volunteer
in a residential care environment as part of a
team committed to exceptional care.
Junior volunteers are welcome at any time of the
year. We have opportunities available
everyday of the week; days and evenings.

SERVICE HOURS |
|
Are you a student who needs to have volunteer
hours for high school graduation or
confirmation? Volunteer at the E.C.C.R.!
|
|
INTERNSHIPS |
|
Are you currently in college pursuing a degree
to work with developmentally disabled
individuals, speech therapy, physical therapy,
recreational therapy, occupational therapy or
non-profit administration? Consider the
E.C.C.R. for your internship placement.
